Rivian has announced that the Ocean Coast trim for the R1T and R1S models will now be delayed, according to an email obtained by by Electrek. In the email, Rivian states that “the light wood in Ocean Coast is more challenging to produce,” and that it will focus on just producing vehicles with the Black Mountain and Forest Edge interior trims.
“Building in few build combinations reduces complexity with our suppliers and in the plant and allows us to build a greater number of vehicles,” the company continued. “This updated approach also means we’ll see Adventure Package vehicles rolling off the line alongside Launch Edition vehicles over the next few months.”
Those that have already ordered their respective models in the Ocean Coast trim will have to wait until at least the Fall to take delivery.
