
For the second consecutive year, Toyota is the world’s most searched car brand according to Compare the Market‘s annual analysis of Google Trends data. The Japanese car-maker was the top searched term in 47 out of 154 countries last year. Of note, Toyota has held the top spot in 3 of the last 4 years, 2018, 2020 and 2021. BMW took the top spot in 2019. Toyota was popular in a number of countries including Russia, Japan, Mongolia, Australia and regions across Southeast Asia and ten African countries and parts of South America.
