Tyler Perry is currently in midst of acquiring an additional 37.5 acres of real estate for his Fort McPherson property. This would add to the 330 acres of land that he currently owns. Perry is looking to expand his production company into a full-fledged entertainment district that would be open to the public. Tyler Perry Studios is currently one of the largest production facilities in the country, featuring 12 sound stages that encompass over 220 acres of green space. The newly formed center would be complete with a theater district, retail stores and restaurants while growing the local economy and creating new jobs.
Perry shared in a statement, “I’m grateful for the opportunity this gives Tyler Perry Studios to extend our footprint in Atlanta and create more opportunities for the people of Southwest Atlanta with restaurants, entertainment venues, and other business opportunities.”
No date is currently set for when the project is expected to be completed.
