According to Variety, The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is reportedly pushing back its October 2021 dates to April 2022. Sources are saying the reason for the latest postponement is ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many states like Texas and Florida are starting to relax restrictions on concerts for the spring.
“There’s a big difference between having two weekend of Coachella in California and throwing a country festival in Florida,” one source tells Variety.
The pandemic has decimated the live-entertainment business. The global live events industry lost more than $30 billion USD in 2020 sure to the coronavirus pandemic.
