As part of the undercard in last night’s Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr exhibition fight, YouTube star Jake Paul knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson following a number second round blows that left Robinson stunned. Despite the win, there were a number of concerns brought up after Paul’s win.
Seven-time world champion Amanda Serrano shared her concerns. “Boxing is a serious game. Nothing to be doing for YouTube likes. Most amateurs turning pro fight four rounds, these guys are debuting in a six-rounder. Someone’s going to get really hurt one day. Not cool at all.”
Mike Tyson’s former trainer Teddy Atlas shared on Twitter: “I don’t care about athletes or not, stop allowing guys who don’t know how to fight into a ring. Paul has actually trained to fight. Awful. Why have a California commission if they allow this.”
