In what has been a long fight to the magical 270 electoral college votes needed to claim victory. Democrat Joe Biden has defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States of America.
“I sought this office to restore the soul of America,” Biden said in a prime-time victory speech not far from his Delaware home, “and to make America respected around the world again and to unite us here at home.”
Trump has refused to concede the election and has threatened legal action on ballot counting. There has been no evidence of any voter fraud.
Kamala Harris has made history as the the first Black woman to become vice president.
