Following a strong opening in the U.S. to the tune of $20.2 million USD, Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet has grossed over $146 million USD globally. These numbers are particularly strong considering the fact that only 65 percent of the theaters are carrying the film and it doesn’t include major markets like New York and Los Angeles. Head of WarnerMedia Studios Ann Sarnoff shared with Variety that the studio intends to keep Tenet in the theaters for an extended period so audiences can find “time to get comfortable with the idea of returning to multiplexes.”
