Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA is lending his talents to the food industry to help one of the premier names in ice cream come up with a new jingle. In recent weeks, there has been a growing discussion about the surprisingly racist roots of one of the most well-known ice cream truck songs – ‘Turkey in the Straw.’
While Good Humor did not compose ‘Turkey in the Straw’ or other ice cream truck jingles, the brand is using its influence as the original creator of the ice cream truck, to help the ice cream truck industry remove it from use and replace it with one that brings joy to every community.
The new jingle will feature trap drumbeats, old-school bells that reference Good Humor’s original ice cream trucks, and a RZA hook.
