According to new reporting by the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Jeff Bezos is now worth an approximated $172 billion USD. The majority of his wealth is tied directly to Amazon which has seen a massive jump in online shopping due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bezos owns 12% of the company (57 million shares). As of the close of the market yesterday, Amazon’s shares closed at $2,890.30 per share. Amazon recently shared that it will be handing out over $500 million USD in bonuses to frontline workers who were working in June.
