It’s official, Sony Producer Amy Pascal confirmed that Tom Hardy will be returning to reprise his role as the villainous symbiote in the Venom sequel.
Notable Quotes: “I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character as no one else can.” Pascal confirmed in a recent interview with Fandango.
Why this matters: Despite the film getting a ton of negative reviews, the original Venom film went on to notch a $205,000,000 USD debut. Pascal shared the reason for the film’s success sharing,
“It’s a couple of things. One of them is that Sony did a great job creating that franchise and giving it a life and giving it its own world.” She continued, “Then there’s Tom Hardy. When you think of Venom [the character], you’ll never be able to think of anyone but Tom Hardy sitting in that bathtub of lobsters. And once you saw Tom Hardy do this character, that’s all you needed to know.”
