Blackface is an issue that continues to come up. This time famed fashion house Gucci has been getting skewered because of a polo neck sweater from its Fall/Winter 2018 collection which has since been withdrawn. The black sweater, described as a “balaclava” knit, covers part of the face. This section of the sweater features a cut-out mouth and large red lips, that have sparked the comparisons to blackface.
