SERENA WILLIAMS FINED $17,000 USD AFTER CONTROVERSIAL US OPEN LOSS

Following yesterday’s loss at the US Open, Serena Williams has been slapped with a $17,000 USD fine for three rules violations. Serena has had an ongoing feud with chair umpire Carlos Ramos.

Things escalated when Ramos issued Williams a coaching warning. Williams denied any coaching which lead to her saying “I don’t cheat. I’d rather lose.”

Her opponent Naomi Osaka was awarded a the first point of the sixth game after Williams slammed her racket in frustration.

Williams voiced her frustrations and called out a double-standard in Tennis when the have had outbursts and slammed their rackets in the past without being penalized.
