According to several reports by New York Daily News, Meek Mill has been denied bail for a second week in a row. Judge Genece Brinkley who has been catching a lot of fire for her role in keeping the Philly rapper behind bars was also behind the decision to deny Meek’s bail.
“Defendant received proper notice of all alleged probation violations in advance of his hearing,” Brinkley wrote. “The sentence imposed was not manifestly excessive and this Court stated sufficient reasons on the record to support a state sentence of 2 to 4 years.”
Brinkley also indicated that she will be staying on to oversee the case and denied personal bias. “This bald allegation has no basis in reality. There is zero evidence to support this claim,” she wrote of the alleged song request made by her of Meek Mill. “The court has repeatedly told Defendant that he cannot demand special treatment just because he has chosen to be an entertainer.”
