Disney and Marvel Studios have a bonafide hit with Black Panther. The film annihilated all new comers this weekend at the box office bringing in $108 million USD. This is only the fourth film ever to bring in over $100 million in its second weekend. Films to have done so previously include “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Jurassic World,” and “The Avengers.” It is the second highest second weekend for a film behind only “Force Awakens.” In total, Black Panther has crossed the $700 million USD mark and is on pace to grossing over $1 billion. Black Panther is also enjoying a near perfect 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
