FACEBOOK’S VALUE INCREASES $13 BILLION FOLLOWING KYLIE JENNER’S SNAPCHAT DISS TWEET

Like it or not, the Jenners and the Kardashians are the straw that continues to stir the pop-culture drink and Kylie Jenner proved that once again. The new mother tweeted last week that she hasn’t been using Snapchat as much. She tweeted, “Sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.” Jenner torpedoed Snapchat’s stock with one single tweet!  Shares in the company plummeted over seven percentage points which equates to a loss of $1.3 billion USD.

Facebook on the other hand who owns Instagram has been the beneficiary of Jenner’s tweet. Facebook saw an increase of $13 billion USD on the day Kylie sent out her tweet. Facebook started the day at $516.83 billion USD and shot up to $519.97 billion USD following her comments. Not bad for an afternoon’s worth of work. Kylie should be due some sort of commission, right?
