ALEXANDER WANG WILL NO LONGER SHOW AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Following the reveal of his spring/summer 2018 collection, Alexander Wang is announcing that he will not be showing as part of New York Fashion Week. He is bucking the traditional February and September schedules and opting to do shows in June and December. The move takes Wang from the mainstream seasons to what the New York Times refers to as “a kind of insider fashion season that no one else (especially not consumers) actually understands.”

Why This Matters: The reason behind the change allows the brand to break away from the traditional fashion calendar and also shortens the wait from runway to release.
