ASTON MARTIN RECALLING OVER 5,000 VEHICLES IN THE U.S.

Aston Martin has recalled 5,000 cars domestically for a number of issues including a faulty power train. Based on what was supplied to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the malfunctioning power train can cause the transmission park pawl; the part responsible for placing the car in park mode (P) — to fail.

Why this matters: A vehicle that appears to be in park could slide down a surface that be on an incline.

Models affected: Models affected by the recall include luxury models: DB9, DBS, Rapide, Virage and Vanquish. The DB9 and DBS cars are included for hazardous battery cables prone to a risk of fire if damaged.

An additional 1,500 vehicles in China will be recalled after the safety issues have been reviewed.
