RANGE ROVER SPORT LAUNCHES FIRST PLUG-IN HYBRID CAR

Land Rover is presenting to the world its all-new Range Rover Sport P400e, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle set to hit showrooms in 2019. The following year in 2020, every Land Rover vehicle will be available with an electric powertrain option. Powering the new hybrid Range is a 2.0L four-cylinder Ingenium gas engine that grinds out 296 horsepower, as well as an 85kW, 102-horsepower electric motor.

The SUV houses 398 horsepower and delivers 472 lb-ft of torque. This gives the Range Rover a 0 to 60 time in 6.3 seconds, before topping out at 137 mph. In EVE mode, the P400e can get up to 31 miles on a full charge and is able to achieve a cruising speed of 85 mph.  A full charge takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
