As the official grooming sponsor of NYFW: Men’s for the fifth season in a row, AXE styled all of the models’ hair at the Feng Chen Wang, N-p-Elliott and Death to Tennis shows. AXE Lead Stylist John Ruidant presents the inspiration behind some of his looks and style tips. Here’s a few of our favorites:

Feng Chen Wang – The Butt Haircut

  1. On wet hair, work AXE Messy Look Matte Gel through from roots to ends
  2. Use a fine-tooth comb to create a center part from the forehead to the crown of head
  3. Power blow dry using fingers to combat waves by stretching out pieces
  4. Take a dime size amount of AXE Messy Look Flexible Paste and work into hair from mid shaft to end for texture

N-p-Elliott – The Refined Mullet

  1. On wet hair start by applying salt spray before running a diffuser through hair
  2. Before completely dry, add a bit of AXE Messy Look Matte Gel then finish diffusing
  3. Rake hair back with fingers
  4. Apply the AXE Natural Look Understated Cream to play up the texture while defining and feathering the ends

Death to Tennis – The Peacock

  1. Start by spritzing hair with salt spray and use a round brush to blow dry hair straight up
  2. Work a dollop of AXE Spiked Up Look Extreme Hold Gel from root to tip and continue to blow dry
  3. Create a center part to split hair into two sections
  4. Starting at the nape of the neck, twist ½ of hair upwards towards the center pinning with hair pins until you reach the recession area. Repeat on other ½ of hair
  5. Gather both halves together, curl back with a curling iron and secure with a pin
  6. Finish off the style by adding AXE Clean Cut Signature Pomade for a slightly greasy look and to tame flyaways
