After serving two terms as Commander-in-Chief and leader of the free world, tomorrow President Barack Obama will become a private citizen once again. As is tradition, the outgoing President writes a letter for the incumbent to read upon settling into the Oval office. In the letter #44 points to the people as “the source of goodness, resilience, and hope” and offers a word of thanks for everyone who has served as his source of strength
And when the arc of progress seems slow, remember: America is not the project of any one person. The single most powerful word in our democracy is the word ‘We.’ ‘We the People.’ ‘We shall overcome.’
