The most entertaining and prolific fighter in MMA history made his own history last night at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The trash-talking Irishman scored a second round knockout on Eddie Alvarez in their UFC 205 main event. In doing so, the Notorious MMA became the first two-weight world champion in UFC history. In true Conor McGregor fashion he went after UFC brass for not immediately presenting him with both belts.
“Where the (expletive) is my second belt?” McGregor said. “Where is the second belt? Cheap (expletive). $4.2 billion this company sold for and they want to take that one off me already.”
It was clear that Alvarez was outmatched and never found a solution for McGregor’s straight left hand after being knocked down twice in the first round.
“They are not at my level,” McGregor said of his competition. “You’ve got to have some attributes. He shouldn’t have been in here with me.”
