Netflix has confirmed the cast for Season 2 of its original thriller Stranger Things. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, will be returning, starring alongside the Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. The Goonies actor Sean Astin and Aliens star Paul Reiser are also being brought on board, as well as newcomers Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, and Linnea Berthelsen.
Plot details for season 2 are limited, however Entertainment Weekly is reporting Astin will play Bob Newby – “a kindhearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack,” while Reiser will take the role of Dr. Owens – “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.” Berthelsen will play Roman, an “emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child.”
Stranger Things is currently in production and will be released next year.
