Timberlands are Beloved by hunters; outdoorsmen and city explorers alike, the boots have developed iconic status worldwide. The iconic status of Timberland has crossed cultural thresholds to the arena of inner-city America where “Timbs” as they are affectionately referred to has become a staple in the hip-hop culture.
“Brooklynite” by birth, I was lucky enough to be influenced by the first wave of hip-hop music, it’s no secret that music transcends styles and there isn’t anything more stylish than Timberland boots, and in some cases if you’re a product of the east coast, Timberlands are a year around style must-have.
In the mid 90’s some of my favorite hip-hop artists were wearing Timberlands from Das Efx, to Mobb Deep, the list goes on and on. A crowning moment was when Biggie Smalls said his infamous line “It don’t make sense, going to heaven with the goodie-goodies Dressed in white, I like black Timbs and black hoodies.” Timberlands weren’t just fashion statements, they were and still are a part of a Hip Hop cultural identity, an uncompromised way of life.
Fast-forward to today, where my journey has led me to review the new launch for the FALL 16 (its funny how life works out that way). Timberland has launched a Revamped version of the classic Field Boot AKA the original sneaker boot.
The company has created two bold new colorways. The first was is a New Dark Port 6inch boot priced at $185 and Dark Port Chukka priced at $160. The second color wave is the classic black color priced at $185 and the 8inch boot priced at $250. Both looks can add extreme versatility to your wardrobe whether you’re at work, play, leisure, or in the studio (like I said…versatile).
Aside from the great looks the field boot also features a new Anti-Fatigue technology. As is standard with the company, Timberland delivers consistently on its comfort and waterproof leathers. As of last week, All four Field Boots can be found on Timberland.com and in Timberland specialty stores.
