This was going to be the phone to go toe-to-toe with the iPhone. Unfortunately, Samsung did not count on the fact that their new flagship device was an explosive device waiting to go off. According to Engadget, Samsung has “permanently discontinued” production of the Galaxy Note 7 following numerous reports of the phone exploding or catching fire. This news comes shortly after production and sales were suspended until a remedy was achieved. It appears this is the end of the road for the 7. If you still find yourself in possession of the Note 7, Samsung is instructing everyone to power it down and suspend the use. No official word yet, but Samsung is working on a plan to recall all devices.
