This has been one of the most epic free agency markets in NBA history. We have seen individuals who are were relative unknowns get mind boggling contracts. To put things into context, Mike Conley’s $153 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies is worth more than Russel Wilson, Cam Newton and Tom Brady’s deals combined! The shoe that we were all waiting to drop was where Kevin Durant would be playing next year. Durant announced this afternoon via The Player’s Tribune that will in fact be joining the Golden State Warriors.
It really pains me to know that I will disappoint so many people with this choice, but I believe I am doing what I feel is the right thing at this point in my life and my playing career.
According to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, “Durant will sign a two-year deal with the Warriors at $54.3 million, league sources say, with a player option for Year 2.”
