As the next installment in the Marvel franchise Captain America: Civil War continues to build momentum en route to the May 2016 release, rumors have been flying back and forth about Spider-Man’s debut.  Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr recently confirmed the appearance in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. ”[Don Cheadle and I] are now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [big picture]. But we’re also looking around like, ‘Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man?’” Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, further replied, ”You never know with Marvel. Sometimes they shoot things and then don’t use them.” No official word as of yet from Marvel on Spider-Man’s role in the upcoming film.  As for the next stand-alone Spidey film, look for that to hit theaters in July of 2017.
