Stunned, but not surprised is how we would describe the news that broke yesterday that Condé Nast will be shutting down Details magazine after the December issue. Details has been a huge part of our success, but unfortunately has met the same fate as most other print publications. With slumping sales, being a destination for advertisers just wasn’t enough to keep the magazine alive. In a letter to all employees, Condé Nast CEO Bob Sauerberg shared that the organization will focus on one men’s publication, GQ and would continue to focus on pouring additional resources into its GQ Style franchise. While both the Editor in Chief Dan Peres and publisher and chief revenue officer Drew Schutte are leaving the company, Saureberg shared that 20 percent of the staffers at Details will find roles within the organization.
