This is Part II of a Special Editorial Series Entitled: Celebrating Father’s Day
This is by far the most meaningful and personal editorial I have ever done since starting this blog. I am blessed beyond measure do what I do and it is not taken lightly.
As bloggers, entrepreneurs and small business owners what most people don’t get a chance to see are the families that help to keep us going when times get tough or when you get down.
My family means everything to me which is why I am so proud and honored to have them be a part of this project. I have found that life is more special when you can share your triumphs with the ones you love.
My family is the first to hear my crazy ideas, which usually results in a “that’s crazy!” My wife is the first to hear my frustrations and my boys keep me on the pulse of what’s going on in the sneaker and music worlds. More importantly they are the first to share in my wins. When this opportunity came about to partner with Vineyard Vines for Father’s Day, I immediately jumped on it.
My affinity for the Vineyard Vines brand dates back to 2007 when I initially saw brothers/founders Shep and Ian on the Big Idea with Donny Deutsch talking about how they left their jobs in corporate America and started Vineyard Vines with just a few ties.
Their story was really inspirational and one that I needed to hear at that very moment. For me, 2007 was one of the most difficult years of my life. I was going through a lot personally and professionally and really wasn’t sure how I was going to make it. Regardless of how bad things got, I never gave up. I had some successes and failuers along the way, but I never gave up.
Fast forward eight years later almost to the day and here I am doing what I love to do and doing a feature with the very same brand that I watched on T.V. back in 2007. This is truly a dream come true. The best part about this whole experience is that I get to share this very special editorial with my family. This experience was truly the best Father’s Day gift I could have ever asked for.
A big thank you to my amazing photographer HBJ for being patient with me and for helping to bring my visions to life.
