According to several reports, Apple is in talks to purchase Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion. Late this afternoon, Bloomberg, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and others started buzzing about the reported deal. At $3.2 billion, this would mark the largest purchase by Apple to date. Beats Electronics makes the ubiquitous headphones and recently launched a music streaming service. Apple would join Facebook and Google who have also recently made high profile acquisitions. Reps for both Apple and Beats are declining to comment on the deal, but several reports are pointing to the deal being wrapped up by early next week.
