All the weeks and months of speculation about the next great Apple products were put to bed today during Apple‘s much anticipated iPad/Mac event. With the role out of the iPad Air, it marks the thinnest, lightest and most powerful iPad ever. For the first time since the iPad 2, we are seeing a totally new design.
Boasting the same shape as the smaller iPad Mini, the iPad Air features a 9.7 inch display, is 25 percent thinner than previous models and weighs in at just one pound making it the lightest iPad in the world.
Additionally, Apple has stepped up the processor to the snappier A7 which can be found in the iPhone 5s. The camera wasn’t left out. As many have come to know, the camera in current iPad models leaves something to be desired.
With that in mind, the camera on the iPad Air has a 5 MP i-Sight camera with 1080p FaceTime camera in the front and dual-mics for video chat. The new iPads will be available beginning next month and will start at $499 and will come in black, white, silver and space gray.
