WASHINGTON, D.C. Treat yourself to handcrafted cocktails and specialty brunch items from award-winning chefs. Graffiato’s chef and owner, Mike Isabella, is no stranger to fame. He competed tirelessly on the sixth season of “Top Chef” and “Top Chef All-Stars,” and this year, took home top honors as the winner of Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chef in the Mid-Atlantic. Chef Isabella made a name for himself working at the Jose Andres’ Zaytinya, as well as restaurants in New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta.
Isabella’s 130-seat eatery, located behind the Verizon Center, serves Italian-inspired cuisine influenced by Mediterranean and Latin flavors. Guests cozy up to the long wooden bar for dishes like hand-cut pasta with olive-oil poached tomatoes and basil, a “Porky’s Revenge” pizza with soppressata, sausage, tomato, stracciatella and Isabella’s signature pepperoni sauce.
